A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, he studied locally until he finished his collegial years at Champlain College in Lennoxville. Dr. Cassar then decided to pursue his pre-medical studies at McGill University before embarking upon his dental degree. He obtained his dental degree at the University of Montreal in 1978.

Dr. Cassar practiced dentistry in Magog before specializing in orthodontics. To become a certified orthodontist it is required to complete a full time, 2-3 year course from an accredited university. Upon completion of his degree in orthodontics, he returned to Sherbrooke to open his office. He also worked as a clinician at the orthodontic department of the University of Montreal.

For over 35 years, Dr. Cassar has been providing his patients with exceptional smiles.

An established orthodontist
Dr. Cassar has also been commended by his colleagues not only in Quebec but across Canada. In 1985, Dr. Cassar was elected to the executive of the Quebec Association of Orthodontists. During his tenure with the executive, he also served on the board of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists as Quebec representative for 3 years. He was nominated to continue on the board which would have lead him to be President of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists but refused preferring to concentrate on his practice.

Away from the office, Dr. Cassar enjoys playing the piano, theater and spending time with his family and friends. He is the proud father of three children. In 1995 Dr. Cassar was awarded the distinction of being nominated President of the Quebec Association of orthodontists, the only orthodontist ever to be granted this honour in Sherbrooke.

A Dynamic Profession
Almost artistic, orthodontics is a dynamic profession that requires a great amount of knowledge and ongoing experience. To remain proactive and enjoy all these relevant technological advancements, Dr. Cassar and 3 other orthodontists have formed a study club. For over 30 years, these experts meet regularly to advance the field by reviewing cases and sharing their acquired knowledge by discussing new techniques. Their group regularly attends conferences and conventions to stay informed.

Our evidence lies the fact that the staff has been working together for many years. Linda (since 1988) and Nathalie (since 1992) will be the first to greet you. Working in the clinic you will meet: Nathalie (Since 1988), Ginette (since 1991), Anic (since 1989), Anne-Marie (since 1987) and our latest addition Karina (since 2009) but working at catching the rest.
